Frequently asked questions

Why is my wax moist?

Some of our scented wax may look a bit more moist than other scents - this is completely normal and will not affect your candle at all.

We do a lot of research into the oils and fragrances we use with our candles - not only to get you a clean, consistent, and non-chemical smelling burn but to also provide you with a unique layered candle that you can enjoy.

Depending on the blend we go with for a scent, we may need to increase or decrease oils used per pound of wax to ensure those high-quality standards that we set for ourselves are met. This is why some wax may have a dryer feel while other scents may be a bit more moist.

Either way, you're good to go! All you need to do is #PLWL.

Do i have to buy a kit every time?

Heck no! We always say you should start out with our Kit just so you get everything you need in one box. We do all of our testing based on the kit items you receive as well - so this is where you can really experience the value and longevity of your Chandlr Pound.

You can use any heat and fire safe/resistant vessel at home with our Chandlr Wax. If you have older candle jars laying around or other jars you can use, you do not need to buy our Kit.

When you come back to get your favorite scent or a new one, just choose The Pound instead of The Kit.

what is your wax made from?

Our candles are made from 100% natural vegetable wax derived from palm. It burns incredibly clean with minimal soot, and because it's plant-based rather than petroleum-based like paraffin, you're not breathing in synthetic chemicals.

We use palm wax because it's one of the most efficient oil-producing plants on earth - it yields more oil per acre than any other vegetable oil crop, which actually makes it land-efficient. Plus, palm farming provides vital livelihoods for millions of small-scale farmers in developing countries.

This puts us in line with other luxury brands like Jo Malone London, Bath & Body Works, LLC, Yankee Candle Company, Inc., Village Candle, Diptyque Paris, The White Company, VOLUSPA, and Cire Trudon. (but we're better!)

Are all of your fragrances natural?

Many of our fragrances include essential oils and ingredients found in nature.

Why Not 100% Natural Fragrance?

  • Some of your favorite scents—like “Velvet Hush” or “Neon Lightning”—simply don’t exist in nature. To create these unique and memorable aromas, we use a blend of natural and high-quality, high-end synthetic fragrance ingredients.
  • Synthetics are crafted by expert perfumers and scientists to closely replicate the scents we all love, while also offering better performance, safety, and variety.

We like to say our scents are “Inspired by nature, perfected by science.”

Safety & Quality Assurance

  • Every fragrance we use is thoroughly reviewed and tested—by us, our suppliers, and independent third parties.
  • All our fragrance blends are certified for safe use in candles, following the strict standards of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA).
  • We never use phthalates or other harmful additives.

Our Commitment

  • Transparency: We’re happy to answer questions and share ingredient information.
  • Performance: Our blends are chosen for their safety, scent quality, and ability to fill your space with beautiful fragrance.
  • Responsibility: We source responsibly and follow best practices for both people and the environment.

We know there’s a lot of confusion in the candle world about what “natural” really means. The truth is, most candle companies—including the big brands—use synthetic fragrance oils for the majority of their scents. Some may market their candles as “natural,” but when it comes to fragrance, nearly all of us are working with blends that include high-quality, safe synthetics.

What do I do with leftover wax?

You kinda have two options:

  • Throw the remaining wax away.
  • Use the wax in a wax warmer.

We collect our Nugs when we are burning traditionally and we will add the leftover wax to our wax warmers to extend the scent.

Most of us burn a candle in the Kitchen or Living Room and we have a wax warmer in the bathroom, so we have multiple rooms with great scent.

Can I Mix Different Chandlr Scents?

Cheat Codes!

You absolutely can mix your scents to create your own unique flavor. We do not actively test different mixes but if you make one that is exceptional, let us know!

Known Mixes:

  • Obsidian Blend + Sugarwood
  • Lavender Storm + Ethereal Forest
  • Neon Lightning + Italian Affair

Do i have to burn it?

The coolest thing about our Chandlr Wax is that you do not have to traditionally burn it. Many of our customers purchase our wax to be explicitly used in wax warmers or candle jar warmers. Others put it in a jar or dish and use it as an aromatic Zen Garden.

Uses:

  • PLWL - light it up traditionally
  • Light it up and use the Nug for a warmer
  • Use it in a wax warmer
  • Put it in a jar/container and use it on a candle jar warmer
  • Use it as potpourri
