MEETCHANDLR.
How it all started.
From An Upstate Kitchen.
It all began over a decade ago in a very small Upstate New York kitchen, where two brothers, Zach and Josh, with a basic candle kit in hand, cranked up the new Lorde album, and let curiosity take the lead.
What started as a fun experiment quickly turned into an obsession to create something better. Soon, the kitchen was filled with the scent of fragrances and wax and the excitement of endless possibilities. Their first venture, RR Candles (very creative, right?), was born, and before long, their hand-poured creations were lighting up friends' homes across the state.
But life, as it does, took them on separate adventures. Zach set off for college and then the military, while Josh juggled a demanding first responder career and a big move to Texas. Candle making paused, but the spark never faded.
Drip. Then Chandlr.
Fast forward to the height of the pandemic. Josh and his friend Jay reignited the flame, launching Drip. A Candle Company in McKinney, Texas. The timing was wild. Everyone seemed to be making candles, selling online, and hunting for new hobbies. The small business candle market was saturated, and with busy lives pulling them in every direction, Drip evolved into something new: Phase 1 of Chandlr.
Josh realized the candle community needed more than just another brand. They needed resources, support, and inspiration. Enter Chandlr: an online hub packed with tutorials, recipes, calculators, and everything a candle maker could dream up. At its peak, Chandlr had 129 loyal subscribers, each one part of a growing creative family.
As the world opened back up, life picked up speed, and Chandlr took a well-deserved pause. But the story wasn't over.
Phase Two.
With Zach back from military service, a simple conversation about "what's next?" sparked Chandlr Phase 2. This time, the brothers were all in. Determined to shake things up, break the mold, be themselves, and build something bold. Countless hours of research, testing, and late-night brainstorming sessions led to the Chandlr you see today.
Despite what you might think, Chandlr is still a small, independent business. Just the two brothers, doing everything in-house. From our proprietary blends to every graphic and marketing idea, it's all us. No big corporations, no outside teams. Just two brothers chasing a dream, one candle at a time.
We are Chandlr. And we're just getting started.
